Zion National Park, Utah

Zion national park is a US National Park that located in Washington, Kane, and Iron counties, Utah, United States. The nearest city are Springdale, Utah(south), Orderville, Utah (east) and Cedar City, Utah near Kolob Canyons entrance.

Zion national park established on 19 November 1919. With 146,597 acres of area, this park offers mountains, canyons, buttes, mesas, monoliths, rivers, slot canyons, and natural arches with variety of life zones allow for unusual plant and animal diversity. The park's four life zones include desert, riparian, woodland, and coniferous forest have 289 species of birds, 75 mammals (including 19 species of bat), and 32 reptiles as well as numerous plant species.

The main feature of zion national park is zion canyon. A 15 miles long canyon and and up to half a mile (800 m) deep, cut through the reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River. The highest point in Zion national park is Horse Ranch Mountain at 8,726 ft (2,660 m) and the lowest is 3,666 ft (1,117 m) at Coalpits Wash.

Things to do in Zion National Park


Zion Canyon has Seven trails with Two popular trails, Taylor Creek (4 hours round trip) and Kolob Arch (8 hours round trip). In summer, Hiking up into The Narrows from the Temple of Sinawava is popular. But you need a permit for hiking in zion national park beyond Big Springs.

Zion is a center for rock climbing, with short walls like Moonlight Buttress, Touchstone, Spaceshot, and Prodigal Son being very popular. Other activities you can do in zion national park are The Subway, River Trips, Camping, Horseback riding, and Bicycling.

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Grand Teton National Park is a US National Park that established in 1929 and located in Teton County, northwestern Wyoming. This park approximately 130,000 ha, the park includes the major peaks of the 64 km. Jackson is the nearest city from Grand Teton National Park. The Distance between yellowstone and grand teton is only 10 miles.
